When I was a kid, my mom would joke that she’d put me to bed at night and my room would be one way, and when she’d wake me in the morning it would be totally different! It’s true. I spent many days (and nights) moving furniture, making my space more beautiful, functional, and aligned with my goals. My passion for creating vibrant, harmonious interior spaces has been a lifelong love.
I don’t recall when I first learned about feng shui but I remember applying it in my first apartment, a 400 square foot studio in Brooklyn, New York. Eager to make the most of every square inch, I devoured every bit of info I could about feng shui and decluttering. Over the years I continued to learn all that I could for the homes where I lived, my studios where I’d paint, and the classrooms where I taught, and happily shared what I knew with family and friends. I understood deeply that environments play an inseparable role in how we feel and what we’re able to achieve.
In 2024, it was time for me to learn everything I could about feng shui. I found an incredibly gifted feng shui master to teach me and applied all that I was learning to my home. My family and I experienced first hand the immense power of feng shui to bring more beauty, harmony, expansion, and peace into our lives. My teacher taught me everything I needed to know (and more) so that I could help others benefit from this ancient wisdom and art. Feng shui is so practical and at the same time, such a magical and transformational practice. I’m very honored and excited to share it with you!
Biography
Raina Elsner received a BFA in Painting from Hartford Art School (1992) and an MA in Art Education from Brooklyn College (1998). She studied at The Art Students League of New York; SACI College of Art & Design in Florence, Italy, and Oxford, England; and Penland School of Craft. When living in New York, Raina worked as the studio assistant for the artist Mary Frank. She taught art in NYC public schools and taught art education at Brooklyn College. In 2011, Raina and her family moved to North Carolina where she taught at the Lerner School until 2021 and privately tutored art until 2025. Raina received her Professional Feng Shui Consultant Certification from One Feng Shui School in 2025. In addition to being a feng shui consultant, Raina is also a painter and a long time practitioner of taiji chuan and qigong. She lives in beautiful Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
